Creating Parent Seedlings

Strawberries are the art created by people and nature. This is our promise between BERRY and you. Therefore, by leveraging the individuality and strengths of each worker, and in a way that protects and coexists with nature, we deliver the finest creations to the world.

The cultivation of strawberries begins each year around March with the process of “seedling preparation,” which takes over 20 months (600 days). The seedling period is much longer than the harvesting period. Today’s strawberries are the result of enduring many seasons and the forces of nature, including the long rains of the rainy season, the heat of summer, and typhoons in early autumn. Please enjoy this collaboration between craftsmanship and nature with your loved ones.
Taking runners from parent plants to produce daughter plants, which become the parent plants for the following year. This marks the beginning of a journey exceeding 20 months until harvest.
Exposing the plants to autumn and winter cold prepares the parent plants for spring.
Harvesting runners from parent plants and cultivating tens of thousands of young plants while enduring the rainy season, intense heat, and typhoons. This includes the parent plants for the following year.
The final sprint towards fruition. The plants grow rapidly, and bees begin their work for pollination. The first harvest after over 20 months is a moving experience each year.
At BERRY, we collaborate with The Oneness foundation that support recovery and growth from various life challenges, including dependency and disabilities, through partnerships that integrate agriculture and welfare (Agriculture-Welfare Collaboration).
For example, there are people who, for various reasons, have been marginalized by society and once gave up on life. There are also those who have lived without any hardship until now. BERRY provides a place where people can utilize their strengths and find companionship.
By delivering the highest quality strawberries to the world, we help many people discover happiness, and they express their gratitude to us. In return, we say, “Thank you as well.” This is our approach to Agriculture-Welfare Collaboration and the guiding principle of creating well-being farms.
“Our wish is simple: to let our children’s children enjoy these delicious strawberries.”
With abnormal weather events becoming a yearly occurrence and global food issues growing more pressing, we as producers responsible for food must take a serious approach to establishing sustainable production and preserving and passing on a rich food culture. Let’s leave a better Earth for future generations. Let’s make our generation a turning point. We are committed to achieving grounded and rational sustainability.
Strawberries are a fruit that does not ripen further after harvest. That’s why at BERRY, we carefully select and package strawberries that are fully ripened on the plant, delivering them directly to your home, patisseries, or restaurant kitchens.
While it can be challenging as our strawberries are rarely distributed through general channels, we take pride in delivering them based on the standards we truly believe are delicious. Hearing a direct “It was delicious” from our customers is the greatest reward for our craftsmanship.
